Apply today for the SMART Heroes Program!
Join the ranks of one of the most diverse occupations in the skilled trades — apply for the SMART Heroes Program! Military veterans are ideal candidates for sheet metal apprenticeships because they have the drive, commitment and work ethic to excel in the construction trades, making an easy and worthwhile transition into the civilian workforce.
The SMART Heroes Program, launched in 2017, provides sheet metal industry training FREE OF CHARGE to enlisted men and women of the U.S. Military. You’ll receive the equivalent of your first-year apprentice training (224 hours) during a seven-week course, across three categories of instruction: General Sheet Metal, Welding and HVAC Service/System Test, Adjust and Balance.
Upon program completion and discharge, graduates can choose any of the 150+ SMART apprenticeship programs in the United States and be provided direct entry and advanced placement as a second-year apprentice. As an apprentice, you can earn a good salary while learning your trade, and receive hands-on training from skilled journeymen. Best of all, you’ll graduate without student loan debt!
